04 January 18 - Soft Play Hire request by the HoneyRose Foundation

Just before Christmas, we received a phone call from a member of staff at the HoneyRose Foundation regarding the possibility of hiring some soft play hire equipment. The HoneyRose Foundation is an organisation that we have previously worked alongside in past years. The foundation is a wonderful organisation which is a registered charity based in St Helens, dedicated to granting special wishes to adults who are suffering with cancer and other life-threatening and terminal illnesses.

Lynn Duffy MBE founded the HoneyRose Foundation in 2004 in memory of three close friends who sadly passed away due terminal illness. The foundation carries out some truly fantastic work and works alongside other hospices and charities such as Willowbrook hospice.

The member of staff from HoneyRose Foundation contacted us to enquire regarding hiring some soft play hire equipment. Unfortunately Susan, a grandmother of five from St Helens was suffering from metastatic ovarian cancer. Susan was also a St Helens resident from Clinkham Wood. After hearing of her tragic story and her final wish, we felt so strongly that we wanted to be involved and help out in any way we could. We feel privileged to have been asked to be a part of the event.

Susan wished to have all her family around her for a photography to be taken and also to see her lovely grandchildren playing and having fun in a soft play area. We were delighted to provide a number of products for use including our fantastic soft play set up including ball pool, happy hoppers, didi cars and a giant connect 4 game.

Also involved in the event was local hairdresser and make up artist Lucy Dean who gave Susan a makeover and she looked fantastic.

Following collection of the items after the event, our members of staff had commented on how lovely the guests at the event and also the members of staff at Willowbrook hospice had been to them when they arrived and completed their collection. It's always nice to feel appreciated and we thank those involved for their heartwarming greeting.

Unfortunately we have recently learned that Susan, 53, lost her long battle with metastatic ovarian cancer on Saturday 23rd December 2017. We are saddened to hear of her loss and pass on our best wishes to Susan's family and all who knew and loved her.

As a company who provide lots of fun products and services in the North-West region including soft play hire in St Helens, bouncy castle hire in St Helens and the local area, photobooth hire and much more, we regularly receive requests for possible donations to charitable causes. We would love to be able to help out with each and every charitable cause. As we are a small, family run business this is not always possible and we do set aside an annual budget to help out charitable causes.

We do have local charities that we work with every year as they are charities which are close to staff members hearts through life experiences. These charities do take a lot of our set aside annual budget.

If you're organising a charity or fundraising event, please don't hesitate to contact us by email and let us know about your event i.e. what you are raising funds for, your registered charity number etc. Unfortunately due to summer periods being our busiest time (March - October), our budget is not available for these dates. Occasionally if there is an opening, we may be able to do something within these dates, however it's something we would need to look into on an individual enquiry basis.

As standard we do offer a discount code for all charity events when booked online using the promo code ' SJCHARITY20 '. Please note, in order to receive this discount on your booking, you must provide your registered charity number in the additional information / customer notes section of your booking form. If this code is not provided then the promo code would be void.

Finally we'd like to finish this news article by again passing on our best wishes to Susan's family and friends.
